Dear Morning Blue Trek 2023 participants,
We are thrilled to have you join us for the Morning Blue Trek, organised by Trek2Health, to support mental health improvement in our community. To ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience, please take note of the following important details:
Event Schedule:
* Registration opens at 0600 Sunday 8th October at The Trek House, 1434 Waterworks Road, The Gap.
* Please park at The BCC Park ‘n Ride Bus station car park in The Gap and walk 40 meters to the Trek House to collect your registration entry bib and Trek2Health bandana.
* Return to the Trek House by 1230-1245 to meet family and friends
What to Bring:
- Footwear: Ensure you have good, comfortable walking shoes for the trek.
- Hydration: Start with at least 1 liter of water to stay hydrated throughout the trek.
- Snacks: Pack enough snacks to last 7 hours of trekking. Trek2Health will top up your water every 5 kilometers.
Weather:
Be prepared for partly cloudy weather with a slight chance of a shower. Winds will vary during the morning. Sun protection is recommended from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a UV Index predicted to reach 9 (Very High).
The Route:
Meeting Point: The Trek House at 1434 Waterworks Road, The Gap at 0600. Private bus charter will leave at 0630 for Mt. Nebo.
The trek covers a 25.0km route through a stunning rainforest track and remote fire trails, with rest and water stops along the way.
Event crew support staff will be available if you need water or support.
Important Notes:
- This trek is controlled paced, and we will be walking as one group at 3.5km to 4.5km per hour.
- Please stay between the front trek leader and the rear trek leader at all times.
- Medical professionals will be present along the route in 4×4 vehicles for any emergencies.
Your Commitment:
Ensure you are physically prepared and have the appropriate personal gear and rations to complete the Morning Blue Trek.
Your ticket price was $25.00 to cover operation costs, the fundraising goal is $150.00. You have received an online fundraising page to collect donations, please try your best to achieve targets. Fundraising pages will be open for a few weeks after the event if you need to collect pledges.
Funds raised support Trek2Health’s mission to provide ongoing support to police officers in our communities.
