Surf Shed stall at Walk for Awareness
Here’s what we’ve done over the last three months.
– We had the privilege of participating again in the Walk for Awareness hosted by Mental Awareness Foundation, with a stall featuring our Surf Shed’s Aussie Eco Surfboards. The event brought together the community all united in their commitment for raising awareness and funds for Mental Awareness Foundation.
– In the last two months, we have been featured by DPA in an interview with our CEO Bruce Barker, and Western Echo’s online media publication. Both articles focused on Trek2Health and our journey of building our Aussie Eco Surfboards.
– Recently, we applied for a grant from the Areable Foundation to build a special surfboard for the Red Hill Special School. This unique project involves the children from the school decorating the inside of the board with their own artwork, adding a personal and meaningful touch. The finished surfboard will be auctioned during the Red Hill Special School P&C’s auction night in November this year, with proceeds supporting the school’s initiatives.
We are proud to contribute to this community-driven project, offering a creative way for the children to express themselves and helping to raise funds for their school. The project is part of our broader commitment to supporting local communities through Surf Shed and promoting environmentally friendly craftsmanship.
– Our annual Computer Alliance Trek2Reboot took place in September. Thank you to all the participants, donors and sponsors who made this event possible. And thank you to Computer Alliance for helping us put this event on!
It was a successful day, with participants having the choice of either a 5 kilometre trek or an 8.5 trek. This initiative continues to evolve, and we’re looking forward to seeing even more individuals find support and strength through Trek2Reboot in the years to come.
– These months marked an exciting digital milestone for us, with the launch of our official Instagram page for Trek2Health and official Surf Shed Instagram + Facebook pages.
– We held our annual Remembrance Day trek, Red Run, recently, and it was a great success. Thank you to all the participants, donors, and everyone who played a part in making the 2024 Red Run such a memorable event! We are thrilled to announce that together, we hit our fundraising goal which will help us to support the mental and physical wellbeing of our frontline personnel.
As we reflect on these meaningful events, we are reminded of the impact that you—our supporters—have had on every achievement. Whether you volunteered your time, donated, or simply helped spread the word, your dedication has been instrumental in making 2024 a year of growth, connection, and change.

Looking ahead, we are filled with anticipation for what the future holds. With your ongoing support, we will continue to empower individuals, promote mental wellness, and create accessible opportunities for all. Thank you for being a part of this amazing journey with us!
