We’re proud to welcome Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Dr Andrew W. Grieve as a new Ambassador for Trek2Health.
Andy approached Trek2Health after hearing about the great things happening within our organisation, and following a few insightful conversations, it became clear that his personality, values, and experience are a perfect cultural fit for our team. His passion for supporting frontline personnel, mental wellbeing, and the outdoors aligns strongly with our mission.
Andy recently retired from full-time service in the Australian Regular Army, closing a remarkable 24-year career that has taken him across three continents and over 40 countries. His operational background includes deployments with UK Special Forces (counterterrorism), the Gurkhas (jungle warfare), and high-altitude medical missions in Nepal and Africa. He is also a trained mountain leader.
Today, Andy is a rural and remote Emergency Physician, holding multiple appointments across private practice in Brisbane, academic roles at the University of Queensland, and medical management within Metro North Health. He is internationally recognised as an expert in deployable health, remote and austere medical support, and medical leadership.
A proud husband, father, outdoorsman, and Gap local, Andy is a passionate advocate for mental health—especially among men and frontline workers. As our Ambassador, he’ll also be participating in treks and challenges where required, offering leadership and support to both our team and participants.
We’re also pleased to announce the launch of a new Doctors’ Mental Health Day Program, beginning in June 2025. this initiative is designed for doctors across South East Queensland, providing a nature-based day of recovery, reflection, and connection to support mental wellness and resilience within the medical community.
Please join us in welcoming Andy to the Trek2Health family and supporting our ongoing commitment to the mental health of those who serve.
Warm regards,
Bruce
