Kate Jones

Kate grew up locally and continues to live in Ashgrove with her husband and two children, Thomas and Grace. Kate has a Masters in Environmental Law and is passionate about protecting our local environment. As a proud local, she is committed to working for and engaging with our communities.
Kate served as Minister for Education and Minister for Tourism, Major Events and Innovation and played a key role in the Palaszczuk Governments work to improve frontline services, create jobs, grow the tourism industry and deliver the Commonwealth Games.

Extra resources and officers for our local Police Stations and a major upgrade for The Gap Police Station.

Two new ambulance stations at Ashgrove and Mitchelton.

Declaring D’Aguilar National Park and completing construction of Walkabout Creek Visitor Centre in The Gap

Protecting Our Suburbs

Protected our suburbs from over-development with a State Government Call-in of the Upper Kedron Development.

Supporting Local Schools

Record Funding for all our local schools including a $5 million commitment to build a Sports Hall at The Gap State High School

Supporting local sporting clubs with major upgrades to facilities at The Gap Football Club, The Gap Netball Club and Valley District Cricket Club
