Julian Simmonds MP

Federal Member for Ryan

I grew up locally and now, along with my wife Madeline, young son Theodore and daughter Isabelle, have chosen to raise our own family here. Our community has a liveability that we not only cherish but that we must fight for. Working hard to ensure we protect our local way of life is what drives me every day to serve our community.
Growing up, I experienced the world through the eyes of a small business family and I know there is no substitute for hard work. With my parents, I witnessed first-hand the sacrifices and dedication it takes to make small business a success and why it is so important that Government policies support aspiration, not hinder it.
Here to serve our community

Working hard to ensure we protect our local way of life

Reducing local traffic congestion

I’m working to deliver better, safer roads and bust congestion. As part of of my plan I’ve secured federal funding to fix key bottlenecks along Moggill Rd including Kenmore Roundabout and Indooroopilly Roundabout. I’m working hard to get this funding delivered as soon as possible.

Keeping our economy strong

It is only with a strong economy that we can deliver the roads, schools and healthcare our area needs, while keeping taxes low.

Protecting our local environment

I know how important it is to protect and preserve our local environment for future generations and take practical steps to address climate change. As a Councillor in Graham Quirk’s team, I helped plant over 2 million new trees in Brisbane and cleaned up local creek and river catchments.

Supporting families with better health and education

As a new dad, I know the joy – and uncertainty – that comes with raising a young family. I want to make sure families in our area have access to the best education opportunities, from early learning to university.
